Product Description

Mahogany Plant

All you need is a plastic or glass container with lid. Clear ones will make it easier to see through, but not required as the seeds don’t need light to send out roots. Put a piece of paper towel or white paper on the bottom of the container, add water till the paper towel is thoroughly moist, but no puddles of water.

They take roughly 25 years to reach a mature height of 50 feet, which means they have a relatively fast growth rate compared to other trees. However, mahogany trees must be planted under ideal conditions and in the right climate to help ensure productive, healthy growth.

Growth Habit This is an upright tree with a rounded, symmetrical crown of medium density. Mahogany can reach 75 height with a 50-foot-spread but is more often seen at 40 to 50 feet tall and wide.
Remove the plastic wrap after the seeds begin to sprout, and keep the pots in bright shade until the small-leaved mahogany seedlings are about a month old. Expose them to sunlight gradually, but continue to grow them in pots until they are 8 inches tall, at which time they can be set in the ground.
